You asked for more Bitsy Bat, and I’m thrilled to announce a second book! BITSY BAT, TEAM STAR introduces a new Crittercrawl student, Enzo Owl. Enzo is non-speaking and uses an AAC device and sign language to communicate. The story follows Bitsy as she struggles to maintain friendships and questions her specialness when the new kid outshines her in the thing she is best at– flying. Self-worth and navigating friendships are universal themes but ones many autistic people find especially challenging. I wrote this book as a tribute to resilient friendships and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to tell more stories from the autistic perspective.
